First Post, New Beginnings, A Fresh Start

I'm sitting in my boyfriend's house picking out templates for my blog. I think the process of picking out a background, title, or color of links is almost entirely useless, but I cannot help myself. I like giving myself distinction and individual flair. I like it because it gives me an opportunity to tell a little about myself almost immediately; the colors might imply I am soft or bold, the background might say I'm trendy or adorable. Anyway, I find most blogs (including my own) to be utterly and intensely cliche. The majority of bloggers spout thoughts and dreams; secrets that in the past would have been whispered to a friend in a pact of confidence are now shouted to the rooftops to millions of on-readers. An older generation often wonders why ours is so eager to post feelings online for the world to see...I think we want to be heard, we desire to be noticed, we long to be treasured, and we ache to be discovered as worthwhile or special.

I want to update this blog once a week before sunday (or on sunday). I want to discuss my classes, thoughts on books I'm reading, things I've been doing, and a couple stories of the kids I watch during the week. Hopefully I will upload pictures, and maybe a song or two every now and again.
